Genesis: Beginnings…
During the summer of 2010 our Sunday morning services will feature a series of sermons from the Bible’s Book of Genesis. That book starts with the words, “In the beginning…” and describes God’s creative act in beginning the world we live in. It continues on to describe the beginning of mankind’s existence on the earth and how humans became distributed around the world. In the final and largest section of the book, Genesis describes how God began to have a special relationship with a particular group of people, chosen them from among all the nations of the world.
Each week we will take a look at a successive section of the book, noticing the overall flow and content of the stories, people and events. Then, we will dig a little deeper into one or two areas. You are encouraged to read the chapters being discussed in advance. This week’s sermon is on:
Genesis 15:1 - 17:27
"It's Hard to Believe"
Pastor Mark Allen

Genesis 4:8-10
Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?" The LORD then said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground."
